EXPLAINATION OF TERMS:

1) Re-structuring is the process where the producer breaks down the song and rebuilds it in the right order. Eg. where to put Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc…

2)   Programming is making real instrument sounds from the computer Eg: Drums, Bass, Keys, Strings, etc…

3)   Recording means layering the various instruments, sounds and voices individually into the computer system. Eg. One recording could be drums followed by the next recording of bass, followed by voice etc…

4)   Mixing is when each individual layer is placed on the right volume level, with the correct equalization and effects (reverb, delays, etc…).

5)   Mastering is a process that every song that is played on the Radio or TV has been through. It will turn the recording quality into a more polished, commercial sounding record and make it sound great on any PA system.
